- For a 0.25 mg target: 0.25 / 5 = 0.05 mL = 5 units on a U-100 insulin syringe.
- For a 0.5 mg target from the same vial: 0.5 / 5 = 0.1 mL = 10 units.
- Add 2 mL of water instead and the concentration halves to 2.5 mg/mL, so 0.25 mg now becomes 10 units, not 5.
